I have always owned a Cocker Spaniel since the age of sixteen, an orange roan
from the Ouaine Kennel with such a lovely temperament.
The name Chavez started in the nineteen eighties, from the breeding of two
Lochranza bred dogs (Sh Ch Lochranza Like Your Style x Lochranza Lets Dance).
Hi – Style at Chavez (Lady) became my first show dog. She had a moderate amount
of success at Open & Championship shows, what a thrill when she was in the
cards.
Hi-Style at Chavez became our foundation bitch, she went back to
Lochranza Bless My Boots producing a lovely black bitch
Chavez Rumba Royal who subsequently was mated to Sh Ch Quettadene Emblem.
Out of a lovely litter we kept Chavez Royal Gem
a pretty black bitch that had a successful show career gaining her Stud book
number. Chavez Royal Gem was mated to Sh Ch Sorbrook Christmas Knight, from this
union we kept another black bitch Chavez
Sovereign Queen. Chavez Sovereign Queen had a successful show career
gaining her stud book number. She was mated to Sh Ch Asquannes Gonzales, we kept
another black bitch, Chavez Royal Fancy - 1C.C
who gained my first Challenge Certificate.
Chavez Royal Fancy - 1 C.C. was mated to
Chavez Ray Of Gold, a great grandson of Chavez
Sovereign Queen, producing
Chavez Royal Variety who was only lightly
shown because of work commitments. She was mated to Quettadene Hobsons Choice
and produced an excellent litter from which we kept Chavez
Royal Purser (1 C.C & 1 R.C.C) &
his litter sister Chavez First Choice, who was mated to Quettadene Ethos which
produced Chavez Country Bumkin Sh
CM. 1.C.C.
Royal Purser & First Choice's litter sister, Chavez Golden Promise went to
the Forestpine Kennels in Dublin and gained a Green Star. Golden Promise
later had a litter and her puppy Forrestpine Class Act at Canyonn JW became
Cocker Spaniel Puppy of the Year 2006. Her second litter produced Irish Sh. Ch.
Forestpine Bright News Star bred by our very good friend Mr. B O'Sullivan.
Royal Variety's second litter produced one black puppy,
Chavez Royal Cavalier. In his short career he had several Best Puppy
awards.
From Chavez First Choice's second litter, sired by Sh. Ch. Asquannes
Gillespie we kept Chavez Royal Quest
who achieved several Best Of Breed & Group placing's at Open show's and was well
placed at Championship shows & Crufts qualified. She was mated to our own
Chavez Royal Purser 1.C.C. 1.R.C.C. and we kept a black dog,
Chavez Royal Liaison J.W.
Royal Liaison qualified for Crufts first time out with numerous Best Puppy,
Best Of Breed & Group placing's to his credit. In 2008 we were delighted
when he won the Dog Challenge Certificate at Crufts, and then went on to become
a Show Champion and also top Male Cocker for 2008.
We were amazed when for the second year running he won the Dog Challenge
Certificate at Crufts 2009, also to our amazement the challenge certificate for
2010. He now has 14 C.C.'s - five with Best Of Breed, a Group 3
and 6 R. C.C's.
From Royal Quest's 2nd litter to Chavez Ray Of Gold we kept the sisters
Chavez Royal Passion and
Chavez Royal Pursuit, both winners at Champ. Shows and consistently placed
in good company.
From Royal Quest's 3rd litter to Sh. Ch. Charbonnel Swedish Design we retained a black bitch
Chavez Royal Allegiance who has been well placed wining several best puppy awards.
Chavez Royal Passion had a litter by Sh. Ch. Lochranza For Your Eyes Only and we kept a black dog, Chavez Royal Heritage and a golden bitch
Chavez Royal Icon. Both won at their first champ. show and are Crufts qualified.

My foundation bitch was Haradwaithe Songstress of Mantim, we mated her to Styvechale Stormcloud, kept one bitch,
Chavez Midnight Dancer. She was mated to Sh Ch Midnight Blue Horizon of Classicway, we kept a dog,
Chavez Charlie Farlie. He was mated to Misty Tweed, and we purchased a blue bitch -
Blue Dancing Queen of Chavez.
Blue Dancing Queen of Chavez was mated to Sh Ch Cilleine Eulogy & produced a really excellent litter, we kept two bitches:
Chavez Cascade & Chavez Chantal.
Chavez Cascade was mated to Sh Ch Lindridge Top Gun, we kept a dog
Chavez Billy The Kid who gained our first parti colour CC. His career was
cut short through our business commitments.
We re-commenced the blue line by buying in a beautiful bitch
Classicway Candleberry. She had two litters, first to Sh Ch Glowhill
Pistol Pete, from this litter we kept a dog and bitch:
Chavez Shotgun Willie (Crufts Qualified)
& Chavez Blueberry. Candleberry's second litter was to Sh Ch Glowhill Rob
Roy, again we kept a dog and a bitch; Chavez Illusive Dreams &
Chavez Chasing Rainbows (Crufts Qualified).
Chavez Blueberry was mated to Annilan Mister Ron and a blue bitch,
Chavez Razzmatazz was retained.
Razzmatazz is Crufts qualified and always in the cards.
From Blueberry's 3rd litter to Quintavia Star Stopper we kept a male,
Chavez Showman. He has won and been well placed at champ shows in puppy and junior Crufts qualified.
Chavez Illusive Dream was mated to Welshwood Blue Emperor whose owner is
showing a promising black & white bitch puppy called Chavez Empress Sophie at
Welshwood. Chavez Blueberry had a second litter to our
Chavez Chasing Rainbows from which we have kept a dog Chavez Rainbow
Warrior.
